Day 1: Kigali Genocide Memorial Visit & Transfer to Bwindi (Uganda)
Your journey begins with a morning pickup from your Kigali hotel. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a cultural and historical tour of Kigali, including a reflective visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Following lunch in the city, your guide will drive you across the Gatuna border into Uganda. The scenic drive takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. You’ll check in at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge for dinner and overnight, surrounded by rainforest serenity.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Return to Kigali for Flight to Nairobi
Rise early for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you’ll venture into the dense jungle in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take 2 to 8 hours, but the reward is an unforgettable 1-hour encounter observing gorillas in their natural habitat. After the trek, enjoy lunch at the lodge, then drive back to Kigali. You’ll spend the night at a Kigali hotel (Hotel des Mille Collines, Serena Hotel, or Chez Lando), preparing for your flight to Nairobi the next morning.
Day 3: Fly to Nairobi – Rest & Relaxation
Catch your morning flight from Kigali to Nairobi. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at the luxurious Serena or Sankara Nairobi Hotel. Take the rest of the day to unwind and explore the city or relax at the hotel in preparation for your wildlife safari.
Day 4: Full-Day Safari in Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, set off on a scenic drive to Masai Mara, Kenya’s most celebrated game reserve. The day is dedicated to wildlife viewing, with morning and evening game drives offering sightings of the Big Five – lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo – along with cheetahs, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, and countless bird species. Lunch and dinner will be served at your lodge or tented camp (Mara Siria Camp, Mara Sopa Lodge, or Kicheche Bush Camp), where you’ll also spend the night.
Day 5: Return to Nairobi – End of Safari
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable 5-day gorilla and savanna safari across Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya.
