The Detailed Itinerary - 8 Days
Meet representative of Tripple Legacy Tours in Kampala for briefing and pick up at the hotel. Set off via the Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal route, taking 5-6 hours with a stopover to enjoy lunch to be made in one of the classic restaurants in Fort Portal. It is in Fort Portal where you can find the historical Tooro Kingdom & at the background, view the legendary Mount Rwenzori.
Early in the morning, you will have a hot cup of tea/coffee and after, gather at Kanyanchu visitor centre for a briefing about chimpanzee tracking rules. The chimp trek takes 2-4 hours and includes one hour for you to take photos and observing how chimpanzees behave.
After chimpanzee encounter, return to have lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will be exploring Bigodi Wetland for a guided nature walk. Several of primates including blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, baboons and birds, etc will be spotted while at Bigodi.
Have breakfast at leisure and after, exit Kibale National Park for Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have the best of big game viewing experience in this park, home to tree climbing lions, bush elephants, cape buffaloes, antelopes, 620 bird species, primates, and more.
Explore Kasenyi Plains and its diverse wildlife during the early morning game drive starting at 6:00 am. Catch up with early risers and big game on this 2-3 hours’ guided game drive. Expect to see animal species including buffaloes, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, antelopes, birds and more. Return to enjoy a leisurely lunch at the lodge and after, you will transfer to Kazinga for a launch cruise 2-3 hours. At Kazinga channel, you will be spotting hippos, crocodiles and aquatic birds.
After breakfast, transfer to Ishasha sector for a short game drive which allows you to look out for the tree climbing lions. From Ishasha, connect to Bwindi National Park to check in at the lodge in Buhoma region.
Wake up early for breakfast and this will be followed by briefing about gorilla trekking guidelines. You will spend 2-6 hours trekking with mountain gorillas and one hour is guaranteed for taking pictures. After, retreat and settle for lunch at leisure, relax and your evening includes the Batwa pygmies cultural visit.
Have a leisurely breakfast and it will be followed by check out then drive to Lake Bunyonyi. At Lake Bunyonyi, you will be enjoying a canoe ride leading to one of the stunning 29 islands while spotting some birds and viewing the beautiful landscape in the surrounding.
After breakfast, you will be leaving Lake Bunyonyi for Kampala or Entebbe to be dropped off at the hotel. This comes with en-route stopover at the Equator crossing for photography.
